On 15 August the casale does what it does best: it lays a long table, lights the grill and stops watching the clock. The Ferragosto lunch is the most eagerly awaited gathering of the year — meat grilled over an open fire, vegetables from the kitchen garden, the estate’s wines and homemade desserts, in the shade of the courtyard.
